Andreas' Background

Andreas Farmakalidis is running for California State Assembly in District 40 because he believes every community deserves strong representation, practical solutions, and a brighter future built on opportunity.

As an immigrant and a veteran, Andreas knows what it means to work hard, overcome challenges, and fight for a better life. His journey—through education, entrepreneurship, and community service—has shaped him into a leader who understands the struggles and hopes of families across the San Fernando Valley.

Andreas is the founder of California MusicBox in Northridge, where he has helped students of all ages discover their voice, build confidence, and pursue their dreams. With degrees from Berklee College of Music, Brandeis University, and Harvard University, he brings both world-class education and real-world experience to his work. As a college professor, Andreas continues to mentor the next generation in music, business, and leadership.

His commitment to community goes far beyond the classroom. Andreas has served as President of the North Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, is an active Rotarian, and regularly volunteers with local lodges and nonprofits. He works hand-in-hand with neighborhood leaders, small business owners, and parents to improve schools, create jobs, and strengthen the quality of life in our Valley.

Andreas also brings a global perspective to local leadership. As a per diem advisor to the European Union, he has engaged with international policy and economic issues—experience that gives him a broader vision for California’s future. Combined with the discipline and service of his military background, Andreas is ready to put his knowledge and leadership to work in Sacramento.

Andreas' Vision for AD 40

I’m running for Assembly District 40 to put people over politics. Every child deserves a high-quality education, every family deserves safe neighborhoods, and every resident deserves opportunity to thrive.

I bring an educator’s perspective, a business mindset, and experience in local, national, and international advocacy to deliver real solutions. By working together with families, schools, and community leaders, we can strengthen our district, support our teachers, and create a brighter future for all.
